The Education, Youth and Information Ministry has established a steering committee to examine and develop an information and communications technology (ICT) plan for the educational sector.Director of Regional Educational Services in the Ministry, Captain Kasan Troupe, said the plan will incorporate all levels of the education system “from early childhood straight through to the tertiary level”.She indicated that as part of the plan “we’re looking at restructuring the programmes of study for our teachers (in training) to make sure they come with that skill set”.“We are aware that, currently, some teachers are very fearful about using technology (but) the children are ready and anxious and they are denied that sometimes because of that fear; so we’re looking at fixing that,” Mrs. Troupe added.
